Pinlocked ™ Stationary Carding Flats

The patented Stationary Carding Flat is the latest development from Stewart Pinned Products Ltd, bringing the well acknowledged benefits of using pins to the stationary carding sections of the card.

Incorporating STEWART'S PINLOCK™ system the pinned 'Fixed Flats' are a significant development and improvement in pinned technology.

Especially hardened carbon steel pins are also used which result in extended product life of the Stationary Fixed Carding Flats.

Stationary Fixed Carding Flats are available in a range of pin densities up to a maximum of 600 points per square inch.

STEWARTS Stationary Fixed Carding Flats are available for most carding machines and are a direct replacement for the outdated traditional wire flats.

Lifetime Comparisons

Pinned Flats after 13 months of running and Wire Flats after only 7 months running.

The picture above clearly shows wear and damage to the wire points after 7 months of running the wire flats. This wear and damage causes more fibre rupture which eventually requires the wire flats to be replaced.

The picture above clearly shows the pin points are still sharp and smooth after 13 months running the pinned flats.

With pinned flats there is no area to damage the fibres. Allowing them to be used well after the wire flats have been replaced.

Less Mill Maintenance

Less Mill Maintenance is required due to the long lifetime of the pinned fixed flats. Tests have shown 100% life improvement over traditional wire flats.

Significant cost savings can be made due to the reduction of short fibre being created. Some tests have shown a reduction of 35% in SFC %.

The highly polished carbon steel pins have no sharp edges, and are gentle on the fibres. This reduces the damage to the fibres and improves the quality through consistent production.
